I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 1998 and have spent the vast majority of my career in small animal practice. Experience of both private and charity sector work, particularly around emergency and critical care, has made me realise that there is a need for greater access to veterinary home visits for pets in certain situations.
My aim is to provide a service for those (people or pets) who have genuine difficulty attending veterinary appointments and to explore and develop provision for home euthanasia and quality-of-life assessments for that important but difficult time. I am a member of the IAAHPC (International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care) and enjoy keeping up to date and sharing experiences in this emerging field of veterinary science.
